DSS confirms arrest of Omoyele Sowore, accuses him of being connected with ‘foreign actors’ to destabilize Nigeria

The Department of State security service (DSS) on Sunday August 4, confirmed the arrest of the previous Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) Omoyele Sowore.

The Secret Police’s interpreter Peter Afunaya, confirmed this at a press briefing on Sunday in Abuja. though Afunaya declined commenting on whether or not Mr Sowore is at their office in Lagos or Abuja, but he claimed that the DSS is acting within its constitutional powers to arrest and detain anybody or group who threatens the unity and peaceful co-existence of Nigeria.

The DSS defendant Sowore of being in touch with foreign actors to destabilise Nigeria and further expressed that the call for revolution was deemed as a national security threat.

Recall LIB reported earlier that Sowore was arrested on Saturday August 3, by operatives of the DSS at his Lagos residence over the planned ‘Revolution’ protest scheduled for August 5.
