Breaking news: Ejikeme Joy Mmesome is banned from taking the UTME for three years by JAMB.

Ejikeme Joy Mmesome

Ejikeme Joy Mmesome has been banned from taking the UTME by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for three years due to allegations of falsification over her 2023 result.

It asserted that Miss Ejikeme‘s result was fake and said that, following the 2021 UTME, it would no longer provide Notification of Result slips because candidates were forging them.

Head of Public Affairs and Protocol Fabian Benjamin released a statement on Tuesday morning assuring “Nigerians that its system was neither tampered with nor compromised as the candidate simply falsified a copy of a result slip of a candidate named “Asimiyu Mariam Omobolanle,” who sat the UTME in 2021 and scored 138.”

“The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is, hereby, restating its earlier position that the UTME result being paraded by Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma is patently fake,” read the complete text of the announcement.

Since the candidate simply forged a copy of a result slip of a candidate named “Asimiyu Mariam Omobolanle,” who took the UTME in 2021 and scored 138, the Board would want to reassure Nigerians that its system was not tampered with or corrupted.

As the statement goes on to say, “it is also instructive to note that the candidate, in her statement, has inadvertently revealed the rightful owner of the result she is parading by pointing out that the QR code on the result slip showed the actual owner of the said result before she peddled a lie in an attempt to obfuscate the truth.

Scanning the QR code on the result slip will reveal the original owner of the item before it was defaced, demonstrating the Board’s indisputable position on this matter.

Because each candidate’s UTME score is encoded in a QR code, the information on the result sheet is only the result of decoding that code.

Additionally, the public should be aware that following the 2021 UTME, the Board discontinued sending Notification of Result slips due to candidates forging them. Since 2022, the Board has issued official UTME RESULT Slips (as opposed to notifications of results) that include a photograph of each applicant.
