EFCC Detains Former SGF Babachir Lawal

Former Nigerian Secretary to the federal government, Babachir Lawal has been arrested and detained by the Economic and financial Crimes Commission over fraud allegations concerning grass cutting contracts.

Mr. Lawal is detained in the Abuja headquarters of the EFCC where he can face investigators over his role within the arguable contracts.

Babachir was removed by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2017 following allegations that he amused aid funds supposed for the humanitarian crisis in the North-east Nigeria.
